Family photography can mean many different things: immediate family, blended families, just the kids, full extended families.
Depending on the age and size of your group, I can adjust my approach. Sometimes we do the group in the traditional style, all at one time. With the use of computers we can take several smaller groups and overlay them into one large group. This approach can have amazing results. Another approach is to combine a variety of images from one session into an artistic arrangement. I also do a series of pictures I call "A Walk About". This series is created wherever your family likes to work or play. What a great gift for Mothers Day! A beautiful Image Box with the date on the cover can hold the series of pictures.
Lets take a walk with your family.
How many times have you tried to get all your kids looking great in one photo for the family Christmas Card? I photographed this group of cousins in 4 separate groups and put them togeather in the computer. This is a challenging task but well worth the results. Leave this kind of work to a professional!
The full extended family portrait is our most asked for image around the Christmas holidays. Outside portraits may not be an option, but we can combine any size family in to a fabulous group. To accommodate their busy lives, some families in this group portrait came on Saturday while others come on Sunday.
These next three portraits were from a series I call "A Family Walk" in Downtown Milwaukee. It is a fun way to photograph a family at play with lots of variety in backgrounds and group variations. More important, it was a great way to help celebrate dad's 60th Birthday.
